Race Release posted on 12/03/2008
DES MOINES, IA (July 21, 2008) - Twenty-two year old Michael Annett is ready to carry forth momentum from his recent runner-up finish at Kentucky Speedway's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event and prepare for this weekend's intensive competition at Indianapolis's O'Reilly Raceway Park. The Iowa native will return to his traditional car number (12) and TMC Transportation emblazoned, Stanton Mopar powered Beast Chassis for the USAC Silver CrownTM "J.D. Byrider 100" before returning to NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series duties with his Bill Davis Racing #22 Pilot Travel Centers Toyota team.
Thursday’s "J.D. Byrider 100" will kick off a hectic weekend of racing in conjunction with NASCAR's Craftsman Truck Series and Nationwide Series. Annett is preparing for a grueling weekend of one-hundred circuits around the 0.686-mi paved oval in the open wheel USAC Silver CrownTM cars before transitioning to the ultra-competitive NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for two-hundred laps of door-to-door racing action.
"I am excited to return to the USAC Silver CrownTM Series with my old number and representing TMC Transportation," noted Annett, who has made two previous series starts. "It is a throwback to the 'black and chrome' days when the TMC Transportation team dominated the sprint car world. It is a great experience
for TMC Transportation guests especially at a historic track like Indy and for me to compete against some of the best open wheel drivers in the country. I appreciate the opportunity and especially want to thank Chris Santucci and Tony Wilson for all of his hard work and preparation for this event. The added track time on Thursday will also be beneficial to my first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event here on Friday behind the wheel of the #22 Pilot Travel Centers Toyota Tundra."
Racing action for the USAC Silver CrownTM Series kicks off on Thursday, July 26, 2007, with a one-hour practice session from 4 p.m.-5 p.m., qualifying at 6 p.m. and the dropping of the green flag at 9 p.m. Annett will return to the seat of his Bill Davis Racing #22 Pilot Travel Centers Toyota Tundra for Friday's NASCAR
Craftsman Truck Series "Power Stroke Diesel 200". For more information on Michael Annett, log on to http://www.michaelannett.com and complete event schedules are available on http://www.usacracing.com and http://www.truckseries.com. Catch the race live on SPEED starting at 8 p.m. EDT.
