No. 15 Team Aids in Tornado Relief

Music City U.S.A. will host the NASCAR Nationwide Series for the second time this season as the Nationwide Series stand-alone season kicks off with the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway. To show the Series’ appreciation for the Nashville, Tennessee area, Nationwide Series teams and drivers will make a group effort to support the Nashville-area Red Cross with tornado relief efforts following April’s storm damage.

With a series of strong storms approaching the track in April, the Nationwide Series saw the effects of a tornado in the Nashville area during their last visit. In addition to a $25,000 donation made by the Nationwide Foundation to the Red Cross following the tornado that struck Murfeesboro and the surrounding areas, series sponsor Nationwide Insurance and Nashville Superspeedway, along with teams and drivers, are joining together to further the relief efforts.

On Saturday, several Nationwide Series drivers including Michael Annett, driver of the No. 15 Pilot Travel Centers/HYPE Energy Drinks Toyota Camry, will give their time to sign autographs for fans at Nashville Superspeedway. Monetary donations for the local Red Cross will be accepted from fans attending the autograph session. All funds received will go towards Red Cross tornado relief efforts. The drivers will be signing from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Nationwide display in the vendor area.

Nationwide Series teams will also be backing the support efforts by participating in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Relief Fund Team Challenge.
Each Nationwide Series team will pull together donations to see which team is most charitable. All funds collected will be donated to the Nashville-area Red Cross to assist in tornado relief efforts. The second non-companion event of the season will kick-off with two practice sessions on Friday from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. CDT and 6:45 p.m. to
8 p.m. CDT. Qualifying for the Federated Auto Parts 300 starts at 1:35 p.m. CDT with a live broadcast on ESPN2 at 3 p.m. EDT, and the green flag drops for the start of the 225 lap race at 6:30 p.m. CDT. Federated Auto Parts 300 coverage starts at 7 p.m. EDT on ESPN2.
