Student Drivers

TMC has been committed to training recent truck school graduates since 1993. Our program is recognized as one of the best. Student drivers are paid while training at TMC, from orientation right on through your over-the-road training with one of our certified trainers. Training is conducted at our Des Moines, Iowa terminal facility.

The opportunity presented by TMC's performance-based pay program can not be overemphasized. We have had new graduates achieve the 32% pay level in as little as 6 months and go on to earn $60,000 their first year with our company! You won't get that kind of opportunity with company seniority-based pay programs.

TMC offers tuition reimbursement for up to $6,000 of your loan. Payments are made monthly beginning 30 days after your hire date as long as you are actively employed with TMC. TMC also offers tuition reimbursement to applicants who have driven for another trucking company (no more than one) prior to becoming employed with TMC. (TMC will not be held responsible for reimbursing previous monies not paid on a student's loan prior to being employed with TMC.) TMC strives to hire the best of the best in the trucking industry. We are always looking for professional drivers who meet the following requirements:

  • 23 years of age
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • No more than three moving violations
  • Solid work history
  • No DUI's or reckless driving
  • No felony convictions

Weeks 1-2

  • 4 days of company orientation
  • 3 days of hands-on load securement training
  • 5 days of equipment familiarization
  • Lunch provided
  • Paid $300 salary per week

Weeks 3-7

  • 5 weeks of over-the-road training with a certified trainer
  • Paid $350 salary per week

Week 8

  • Certify completion of training
  • Get assigned to your own truck with your name decaled on it
  • Start earning high weekly wages, choose percentage-based or mileage-based pay, your choice
