TMC has a long history of hiring current and former military personnel into every job category that we have. Military veterans will find that TMC genuinely appreciates the skills, knowledge and attributes learned during your time in service to our country. We have found that the TMC way of doing things is something that people with military experience are really at home with. In recognition of this special relationship and of your service to our country TMC is proud to be able to offer military veterans the opportunity to enroll in our nationally registered Apprenticeship Program through the United States Department of Labor for Heavy Duty Truck Drivers.

Veterans who qualify for the TMC Apprenticeship Program, who are eligible for GI Bill education benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and who are just starting a new career in trucking can use those benefits for up to 2 years at TMC. The VA will determine your eligibility for benefits and the monthly amount you may be entitled to.

For those eligible veterans, getting into our professional truck driver apprentice program involves just a few simple steps.

Complete an on-line TMC Driver Application
Follow up on your application by contacting a TMC recruiter
Once your application is approved, attend an approved truck driving school to obtain your Class
A CDL (We can refer you to TMC approved schools)
After completing your CDL training, schedule yourself for a TMC Orientation
Fill out Apprenticeship forms at Orientation

It normally takes 10 - 13 weeks for the VA to determine eligibility and issue the first check. Your first check should include an amount retroactive to the beginning of your training with TMC. The amount you will receive will depend on factors such as the length of your service and the type of service. Your payments will come directly to you from the VA and are totally tax free.
